Well I tried a breakfast this week. I'll post the recipe and then I'll give my thoughts.

Cold Cereal

5C cold cereal
2/3C dry milk
1 1/3C water
1 can mandarin oranges

I don't know how many people have ever measured out one serving of cold cereal, but it is usually around one cup, and it is NOT what you usually put in your bowl for breakfast. In our family we eat about twice as much (some mornings more) as is recommended. So you can decide how much is reasonable for your family to store/starve. And one can of oranges isn't much either if you like them. I will be portioning 1 1/2C per person and adding another can of oranges, don't forget to add a little more milk too.

Something that I did this week that I wanted to share as a success was a pizza dough recipe. We love to make homemade pizzas around our house, because we can stick all sorts of leftovers on a crust and the kids will eat it just because it is pizza. We have tried many different crusts over the years and this is the best one we've ever had. It is easy and just the right amount of rise. It also still turned out awesome after being frozen.

Pizza Dough
1C warm water
1 Tbs yeast
1 Tbs sugar
1 t salt
1 Tbs olive oil
2 1/2 C flour
In a med bowl combine water, yeast, and sugar and let stand for 5 minutes. Add salt, oil, and enough flour to make stiff dough. Knead until smooth and elastic. Roll into 15 inch pizza round. Top with desired topping and bake at 400 F for 15-20 minutes.

Hopefully I'll have better luck with what I try this coming week. I am looking forward to celebrating my 9th anniversary this week though.
